Voluspa translates to “Prophecies of the Volva.” A Volva is much like what you would think of as a wise-woman or shaman. She has the ability to see the past and the future. The Voluspa provides insights into the way the Germanic and Scandinavian people view their Gods and stories. This poem, translated from Icelandic, is originally found in the Codex Regius and is the first of several poems included in the Poetic Edda.

A new verse from the Voluspa will come to you daily and help you learn the enigmatic Lore of the Ancient Germanic people.
